A Few of My Firsts

I am growing up so fast. I have recently found my thumb and love to suck on it all day long. Mommy lets me...for now. I have a few new toys to stare at and am starting to grab at them...but not while on my back, I hate being on my back. I also tried my first bites of rice cereal...it's fun...to spit out. Too much work for now so I think I'll stick to milk for a little longer.

First Halloween 2007

My first Halloween!! We went to a pumpkin patch with cousin Shaylee...It was very muddy and very busy. Halloween night we stayed home and handed out candy to all the trick or treaters. There were lots of fun costumes and I was smiling at all the kids...until the high school kids started knocking. No one else came by after that...maybe cause mommy turned off the lights. (Darn those high school kids).

My First Month

Krystiana's due date was July 30th, 2007. Two weeks before her due date I was having some strange contractions so decided to go into the hospital to see what was going on. An ultrasound quickly revealed the cause of my discomfort...She never turned and was in breech position. After unsuccessfully trying to turn her around (something I never want to experience again) we were told a c-section was our only option.
My c-section was scheduled for a week later. I showed up to the hospital at 6am and she was born by 8:48am. After nine months of anticipation for what birth was going to be like...no contractions, no labor, nothing! I had my beautiful baby girl and didn't have to do any work! She came out screaming and the nurses instantly commented on how much she looked like her daddy.

Expensive Kitty Toys

Krystiana doesn't like any of her toys...but at least they are getting put to good use. The kitties seem to really enjoy them. I guess it's not money gone completely to waste.

Krystiana 0-3 months

We had to stay in the hospital for 2 days and were very happy to go home. For the first few weeks Krystiana had to sleep on us...she was difficult to wrap up because her little legs stuck straight up in the air (memories of being breech). Her little legs finally relaxed and we thought all was great until she decided that she liked sleeping on her tummy. After a few sleepless nights, mommy gave in and started letting her sleep on her tummy... by 2 months she (and mommy) are sleeping wonderful 8 hour nights!

We knew it was too good to be true and for the nice long sleeping nights we knew there had to be a trade off. Our girl is definitely an arm baby...does not like the car seat, or the swing, or the bouncer, or the play mat. (Good thing the kitties are getting some good use out of the toys) She is only happy when being held. She doesn't even care who is holding her, as long as she is held. Car rides are pure torture as she screams to and from every where we go. Other than that, she is a very easy sweet and happy baby and we are loving every minute.
